Paul has 28 years’ experience in the rail engineering industry after starting his career with British Rail in 1990 as a trainee technician in the Signal & Telecommunications Department. His career has involved extensive work in both the S&T and Permanent Way departments including installation, maintenance, fault finding and project management.
Paul qualified as an assessor in 1999 then progressed to IV in 2005 and gained his Certificate in Education in 2012.
Paul has worked as a trainer assessor and as an IQA for various railway training programmes including those at Level 2 and Level 3. Paul has worked with various colleges and funding providers throughout the country, putting together bespoke training packages covering signalling, permanent way, overhead line and civil engineering and has been involved in funded programs including the Adult Education Budget and Adult Leaner Loans.
Paul has a proven track record in developing scheme of works, lesson plans, portfolios, training materials, training resources and assessment packs to meet the requirements of his clients.
